What Killed the American Camels?
By: Jay Antonic

As a part of my ongoing research in antediluvian geography and plate tectonics, I often pause to consider components of natural history that speak to the former connections between the landmasses.

Remembering that, in the days of Eber in the Book of Genesis, Peleg was born and was so-named because in his day, "the earth was divided".

Genesis 10 (King James Version)
25And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

Quite literally, this meant that the known global landmass was divided in two. This was a phenomenon witnessed by men after the flood and recorded as such in the Bible. A simple whole-earth view on Google Earth will reveal that directly down the center of the Atlantic Ocean lies the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. This ridge is a giant fissure that runs longitudinally down the middle of the ocean.

The fissure is constantly pushing the landmasses apart and that force is what caused the western coast of North America to collide into the Pacific Plate systems. This collision is what both caused the pacific plates to become subluxed and what in turn created the up force and crumpling that became what are now known as the rocky mountains. Additional forces from Pacific plates as well played a significant role.

The division at first was sharp and violent, most of it occurring under the waters of the Great Flood. When those waters receded and also became Glacial Ice, the range was revealed, and is why today you can still find aquatic fossils at the tops of many of the western mountain ranges of the United States.

This cataclysm was described as occurring around 7-9 thousand years ago according to geneological tables. One of the main points of interest in illustrating just exactly which landmasses were adjoined can be revealed when looking at botanical, zoological, anthropological, and paleontological records. The prevelance or absence of species over the paleontological record can easily speak to migrations, range of habitat, and more.

One often wonders how the glory of Northern Africa and the history of its civiliations ebbed into abandonment with the onset of the desertification of its land geography. What caused the Sahara to engulf Northern Africa? And what remnants of civilization lie beneath its sands?

Go back in your mind to when the continents were attached. Careful study of tectonics reveals that the northern edge of South America and its underwater shelf, fit neatly into the recessed coastal border of Western Africa. A review of the existing rivers in Western Africa and of Brazil do not bring one to a spurious conclusion. In fact, when formerly connected it was the AMAZON river that flowed steadily into and watered much of Western Africa bringing nitrogen rich sediments along with it to bring fertility to the region. Once seperated, over time, this freshwater source continued to flow into the Atlantic Ocean and the deprivation of that source of water eventually led to the formation of the expansive deserts of north and western Africa.

So what is the mechanism that kept the Mid-Atlantic Ridge actively volcanic?

Consider when this fault line began that the fissure was not very wide, but by contrast, it WAS very deep. As water over the Pacific Ocean, over time, evaporated, and rained down on the land mass, the waters would become concentrated and would drain to the fissure. As the Amazon and Missisipi poured in and as the Mediterranean did the same, as well as the African Rivers over time, this water kept filling in more and more.

The weight of fresh pure water is 8 lbs per gallon. As all of this water over time began accumulating it also pressed down on the earth's crust putting immense pressure on the ocean floor. This is what caused the Great Continental Drift and the development of the Rocky Mountain Range. Any Geologist, regardless of their flawed dating methodologies, will tell you that the Appalachian range is far older and more mature than the Rockies, and is far lower in elevation. You still find active volcanism, earthquakes, and faultlines on our west coast to this day while our eastern ranges are quiet.

So while the Amazon continued to pour in, and the Evaporation of the Pacific rained down, and while the North American Glaciers melted as Canada and the US drifted more Southernly, and as Africa's Rivers Drained into the west, the Atlantic Ocean was formed. Now the plates are moving at a very slow rate, but certainly at a rate that is measurable. It was this geological activity, brought on by the conditions of a post-diluvian world devoid of a thick atmospheric water layer, that not only created the nutrient depleted Sahara, but that created the Atlantic Ocean and the Rocky Mountains.

These facts explain the prevalance of both old and new world monkeys that are confined to the Southern Hemispheres. Of Both American and European Bison, Foxes, Bears, Wolves, and Mammoths occuring only in Northern Hemispheres. These are only a few examples. One most recent discovery (below) highlights a rare find of North American Camels 10,000 years old or younger.

This is an exceptional find. Camels are highly migratory and range widely. This is witnessed not only in Northern Africa, but in Australia as well. The finding of North American Camel bones dated to this time period is a fabulous piece of evidence linking us to a recent tectonic adjoinment with Northern Africa. This is where the species of camels are thought to originate. Other Camel species as well are found in South America (Llama, Alpaca, Guanaco). This too, is another speciation of a historical camel anscestor that lived in a range that encompassed both Africa and the Americas.

I wonder if they will ever bring themselves to admit just what exactly that "great event" was that "wiped out a great deal of mammal life".

PHOENIX, Arizona (AP) -- Workers digging at the site of a future Wal-Mart store in suburban Mesa have unearthed the bones of a prehistoric camel that's estimated to be about 10,000 years old.

Arizona State University geology museum curator Brad Archer hurried out to the site Friday when he got the news that the owner of a nursery was carefully excavating bones found at the bottom of a hole being dug for a new ornamental citrus tree.

"There's no question that this is a camel; these creatures walked the land here until about 8,000 years ago, when the same event that wiped out a great deal of mammal life took place," Archer told The Arizona Republic.

Wal-Mart officials and Greenfield Citrus Nursery owner John Babiarz have already agreed that the bones will go directly on display at ASU.

Archer said some of them may be placed on display very soon, but most will take several months "to get sorted out and stabilized."

"In my 15 years at ASU doing this work I can think of six or seven times when finds this important have been made," Archer said. "This is the first camel. Others have been horses, once a mammoth on Happy Valley Road. This sort of thing is extremely rare."

So.... what killed all of the Camels?

Genesis 7 (King James Version)
4For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

17And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

18And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

19And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

20Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

21And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:

22All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

23And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

24And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

In fact, when one compares the fauna  and freshwater fish of North America and Europe and that of South America and Africa, both living and extinct, there are profound connections.

Let's suspend our faith in modern error prone dating methods and start to connect the dots of the actual natural history of our young planet.
